Exhibition KUNSTwerk aan de Winkel - The other side

15/2/2015

Today I exhibited my work for the first time. The exhibition features 16 artists. I'm thrilled to be one of them. I had chosen my project 'The other side'.  The other side is one of my main macro photography series. It's unique and drawed a lot of attention.
The exhibition was held in the local art gallery KUNSTwerk aan de Winkel, situated in Rotterdam Nesselande, The Netherlands. Special thanks to everyone who visited the exhibition and Jacqueline Da Cruz Arnold for covering this special day for me. Visit her website for her work: http://www.jacqueline-arnold.nl

Interested to visit my exhibition?
- Period:      Feb. 15th - Apr. 12th on Wed, Fri, Sat. and Sundays 13:00-17:00
- Location: KUNSTwerk aan de Winkel, Maltaplein 56, Rotterdam.

During the making of 'The other side' I used different chemicals (sorbitol 70% and color additives) in combination with water to create drops in various sizes and shapes. By determining the angle and intensity of the sunlight I managed to create 'outher earthlike' creations, through controlling the refraction ratio. The surface on which the drops where planted is a DVD. I used a large aperture (F32-F40), to create maximum depth of field.

Publicity around the exhibition:
- Algemeen Dagblad, edition Rotterdam Oost, Feb.4th 2015
- Dichtbij, Feb. 11th 2015.

This next publication is my first in the magazine called Focus. In this edition, Issue 2015-2, February 2015, I got the opportunity to publish my story and pictures from the project 'The other side'. The other side is one of my macro photography projects, which I'm very content about. I'm thrilled it got the attention of the respected and long existing Dutch photography magazine Focus.

Save the date Aniko & Olaf

24/5/2014

Before the big day Aniko and Olaf wanted to have a killer save the date shoot. The creative mind came from Aniko herself. As a photographer I had to manouvre myself above the couple on a ladder, which was kind of exciting. I was pleased with the result and happy to hear the picture was going to be published in a big bride and groom magazine called 'Bruid en Bruidegom', third edition 2014. Check out the original and published picture below. I can call this the first original publication of my work in a magazine.

Technical information: Nikon D7100, Nikon AF-S 50mm F/1.4G, Nikon AF-S DX 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR.
